Destiny 2 element mods, Wardiff Coil Exotic rocket launcher revealed, spectacular tableflip emote leaks
Destiny 2 has been under heavy wrappings, but the paper is peeling away and we can all see what glorious gifts await us. Thanks, Santa!
Today, Arekkz continues rounding up news from Bungie's near-constant media barrage along with the recent flood of footage and various leaks. His efforts have already brought us word of auras and transmat effects in Destiny 2, a new difficulty setting and some raid details, a third subclass and Bright engrams, and more.
Pulling from a recent Luke Smith interview and leaked Destiny 2 footage, here's what he's got for us today:
- The strange-looking Exotic weapon we've been calling the Dubious Volley or "Microphone rocket launcher" now has an official name: the Wardif Coil. Unfortunately we don't have any further details on it, so we don't know if the perks attached to the Dubious Volley weapon as it appeared in the D1 database will be reflected in Destiny 2.
- The next tidbit comes from some footage which was posted and then hastily retracted, presumably due to an embargo. The leak was not to be plugged, however, and we all got to see an amazing new emote where a hologram of a table appears in front of a Guardian, and spins off and away as they flip it. It looks like some of Destiny 2's emotes will be pretty spectacular, and "tableflip" will no doubt be a favourite.
- In Destiny 2, energy weapons can be modded to have whichever element you want to use, rather than being locked to one weapon. Exotics, however, will be locked to their starting element.
- Bungie is weighing up the possibility of a Destiny 2 PTR (public test realm) for PC, but does prefer to surprise players with updates rather than have them tested by a slice of the community first.
- Hunter fans will enjoy playing the Gunslinger's second passive tree, Way of the Sharpshooter, as it has the highest rate of orb generation Smith has personally experienced.
You can learn more about all of this and see some gameplay footage associated with it in the video below.
Destiny 2 releases on consoles next week and comes to PC in late October.
It is all I care about right now. Sorry not sorry!
