Deep Down dungeon generator capable of "infinite variations"

In what may practically be true but will almost certainly turn out to be technically inaccurate, Capcom has claimed that PlayStation 4 exclusive Deep Down's random dungeon generator is capable of "infinite variations".

The boast appeared in one of a couple of Japanese Facebook posts translated by Gematsu.

The elements of the dungeon that can vary include treasure chests, traps, ladders, and height variation.

Apparently, Capcom has employed a "include as intended" feature to ensure that all elements are indeed random, but also sensible - treasures appear in dead ends, traps include monsters, and warp points always go somewhere interesting.

Capcom said that dungeons are the best part of an RPG - as opposed to travelling in the field, or exploring towns - and that Deep Down is designed to capitalise on that.

The free-to-play multiplayer title is headed to PS4, probably in 2014.
