Debugger v3.16 is latest Square Enix Collective game, Leap of Fate & Black the Fall scoring well

Debugger v3.16 is the next game to enter the voting round in the Square Enix Collective, an initiative that sees gamers voting to see which new indie games will release via the publisher. Meanwhile, new games Leap of Fate and Black the Fall are scoring big votes.

We reported on the dark and harrowing Black the Fall, and brawler Leap of Fate last month. Hit the links for images, trailers and details. They currently hold 81% and 82% approval ratings on the collective perspectively, with 14 days of voting to go.

In a press release sent to VG247 today, Square Enix confirmed that Debugger v3.16 is the latest addition to the scheme, and is currently accepting votes on Steam Greenlight.

It's a puzzle game that starts a sentient debug function as it attempts to flee deletion and prove itself by resolving bugs found in a variety of code-based levels. To defeat the game's host of hostile bugs, you'll need to write actual debugging script using your keyboard, or even use lines of code to enhance your debugger.

In a neat twist, completing the game will unlock a tutorial that teaches users have to code their own game.

Developer Work of the Spider has confirmed that he game is 15% complete and jokingly admits to having its own bugs to sort out. Either way, it's a neat code-based twist on the puzzle format.

We'll have more on the game as it comes. Stay tuned.
