Deathloop trailer explains the game's time loop mechanic using time loops

Deathloop is a game about time loops.

Arkane has put together a new trailer for Deathloop, just a couple of days after that slick State of Play trailer.

The premise of this one, however, is a little different. In it, Deathloop game director Dinga Bakaba explains how the game works in very basic terms, by working through time loops of his own.

The ultimate goal of Deathloop is to figure out how to take down all eight targets - called Visionaries - in one loop. Though you start off from the beginning with each death, your knowledge of the targets and the world grows every time. In between, you can also upgrade your weapons and abilities for a more efficient run.

Each of the game's four districts houses two of the game's Visionaries, and they each have a theme. Of course, there's also a rival assassin in play, who's going to be hunting you down as you go about your business.

We'll be able to do all of this when Deathloop comes out on May 21 for PC and PS5.
