Deathloop gets May 21 release date
Deathloop's new release date is official.
Update: Following this week's leak, Bethesda has now officially announced that Deathloop will arrive May 21 on PC and PS5. The game is available in standard ($60/£60), and Deluxe Edition ($80/£80).
Pre-orders are up on the PlayStation Store for PS5, with Steam pre-orders going live soon. The game is also available directly through Bethesda's own launcher on PC.
You can read the original story below.
Original story: Arkane Studio's mind-bending shooter Deathloop looks like it's going to be full to the brim with style and flash. The time-loop manhunt premise has been turning heads since it was announced at E3 2019.
Those excited about the announcement got some disappointment late last year though. Sadly, it was revealed that the game was getting pushed to the second quarter of 2021. Up to this point, we've not had any further specificity.
However, it looks like we may have gotten an early glimpse of an updated release date. As of writing, there is a page on the New Zealand PlayStation Store saying that the game will release on May 20, 2021.
It's possible this entire listing is a mistake, but since it's coming directly from a PlayStation Store page, that seems unlikely. The listing has two versions of the game. The base game is priced at $119.95 A Deluxe Edition is also listed with an assortment of digital goodies for $149.95. The contents are listed as:
DEATHLOOP
Transtar Trencher Weapon
Eat The Rich Tribunal Weapon
44 Karat Fourpounder Weapon
"Party Crasher" Colt Skin
"Sharp Shooter" Julianna Skin
Two Trinkets (equippable buffs)
Original Game Soundtrack Selections
On top of that, you also receive these from pre-ordering the game:
Unique Weapon: Royal Protector Machete (PS5 Exclusive)
Character Skin: "Storm Rider" Colt
One Trinket (equippable buff)
With such a detailed listing, it seems like Deathloop's official reappearance is imminent. Hopefully, whenever it does reappear, it's with a bang. And with a game as stylish as this, it's hard to see how it doesn't.
Deathloop is expected to be a timed console exclusive for the PS5 (despite Microsoft's aqusition of publisher Zenimax Media.) It will also be available on PC.
