Death Stranding: Extended Edition seemingly getting announced soon

An industry insider claims that the rumored Death Stranding: Extended Edition is due to be announced soon.

For a little while now, there's been consistent chatter about an updated, enhanced version of Death Stranding in the pipeline for both the PS5 and PS4 – and now a leaker has hinted that it may be closer than we previously thought.

ResetEra user Navtra mentioned the project back at the start of the year, and considering the user has a pretty solid history when it comes to Sony leaks, a lot of people took the claim seriously. Now, Navtra seems to be doubling down on the idea of a PS5 re-release of the Hideo Kojima game – the user clarified that they really do think the game is coming when quizzed about the rumoured edition.

“Death Stranding: Extended edition coming to PS4 and PS5? Just want to confirm if what I got told is true,” asks DanteAlighieri – and Navtra replied with a 'yup'.

“Even if there's an upgrade path I think it will be paid since there's new story content in this version” Navtra goes on to explain, reinforcing the idea that this will be a meaty expansion, not just a re-release with a bit of spit-and-polish.

Of course, at this point, this is all speculation and rumour – neither Kojima Productions nor Sony have mentioned any plans for a Death Stranding PS5 edition. Take what you're reading here with a healthy dose of salt.
