Death Stranding Bike - How to Unlock the Reverse Trike
Here's how you can unlock the reverse trike in Death Stranding.
You might have seen Sam riding around on some sort of bike in pre-release footage of Kojima Productions' new game. This is actually known as the 'Reverse Trike' in-game, and it's one of the best ways of rapidly travelling around in the large open world sections.
Death Stranding: How to Unlock the Bike
If you want to unlock the Reverse Trike, you've got a bit of a journey ahead of you. Although you can find a single Reverse Trike waiting for you by distribution center west of Capital Knot City in the eastern region of Death Stranding, you won't actually unlock the ability to manufacture your own bikes until you hit the Central Region of the game.
When you reach Lake Knot City in the Central Region, you'll need to undertake Order 23, which can be found in the 'Orders for Sam' menu at the distribution delivery terminal at Lake Knot City. Complete this order, and you'll immediately unlock the ability to create a Reverse Trike at any distribution center in the game.
How to Get a Reverse Trike
If you find yourself out in the open world, thinking you could really do with a Reverse Trike right about now, then head to the nearest distribution center. Note that this excludes prepper stations, like the Engineer or the Evo-Devo Biologist. You'll need to find an actual distribution center at a populated area, like Lake Knot City or South Knot City, for example.
Once you've reached the distribution center, interact with the delivery terminal. Now scroll down to the 'Fabricate Equipment' option on the menu. Here, you'll find that you can scroll along to the vehicles tab, where you'll be able to fabricate any vehicles you've unlocked in the game so far, like the Reverse Trike.
But if you're playing Death Stranding online, there's another option for obtaining a Reverse Trike at a delivery terminal. If you go into the 'Garage' option on the delivery terminal menu, you'll find that you can take any vehicles out of storage that have been stored at the same delivery terminal by other players.
This means that if another player stored a Reverse Trike in the Garage at this distribution center, you can take it out of storage for your own use. Don't worry, this doesn't mean they won't have access to their own vehicle any more, just think of it as borrowing the vehicle for a short while.
These are the two main ways of procuring a Reverse Trike, once you've unlocked the ability to fabricate them by completing Order 23 from Lake Knot City. Alternatively, you could just explore the open world, and hope you happen to stumble upon a vehicle that's been abandoned by another player.
