There are no immediate plans to fix Deadly Premonition 2's frame rate issues
One of the criticisms in Deadly Premonition 2 is the game's performance, and it appears the issue is not something that will be fixed.
According to the game's PR company speaking with Jim Sterling, there are no immediate plans to fix the frame rate issues in Deadly Premonition 2.
Per Sterling, and other reviewers, the frame rate is worse when you are outside, but seems to come off a bit better once you step indoors.
In the VG247 review, Alex said when outdoors, the frame rate slides "into the twenties and even the tens."
"Sometimes the game just hitches up, seemingly at random. Hop on your skateboard to get around more quickly and matters just become worse," he said. "This sort of performance isn’t across the board, but it’s frequent.
"Given Deadly Premonition’s status as a slightly-crap cult classic with a lot of charm, one has to wonder about this. Did the developer and publisher simply think they could get away with this performance because people expected the game to be no masterpiece? This isn’t just bad in a way the first game was – it’s vastly inferior, and often borders on actively unplayable."
The game takes place in present-day Boston, and in it, you will venture back in time to Le Carre and uncover the mysteries buried within the once peaceful town.
Serving as both a sequel and prequel to the original Deadly Premonition, you will follow Agents Davis and Jones as they begin a new investigation into the Le Carre serial murders. Through the memories of a former FBI agent, you will step back in time to Le Carre as Special Agent York to begin unraveling the mystery.
Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will release July 10 digitally via the Nintendo eShop for Switch.
