Dead or Alive: Dimensions StreetPass trades ghost data with other players
Being the top of the pops at a fighting game no one plays for the fighting can't be easy. After all, how do you make time for the legions of challengers who want to boot you right out of your throne?
The answer, as it turns out, is the same you've undoubtedly given to most of life's major quandaries: robots.
"In Tecmo-Koei's Dead or Alive: Dimensions, the character parameters, which shall be determined by a player's play pattern, shall be exchanged and, as the result, you will receive a challenge from the character," Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said according to a Nintendo translation.
Aside from revealing that Iwata apparently learned how to speak at a LARPing convention, this also sheds light on DOA's ghost data-like functionality. Basically, the game learns how you fight and creates a robo-clone that challenges everyone in StreetPassing range to fisticuffs.
Back in our day, we shook hands with people we'd never met. This is better.
