Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this week, and is also available in free-to-play form via the PSN. New trailer and details within.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate hits retail in Europe on Friday, having launched in North America today. Described as the most complete version of the fighter, it boasts new online features, stages, costumes and game modes as well as extra cast members including past members Ein and Leon as well as Ninja Gaiden's Momiji and Rachel and Virtua Fighter's Jacky. The new modes include Team Fighter, which tasks you with creating a squad of seven characters, 2v2 Tag Mode, and an improved Tutorial mode.
A free-to-play version of the update called Core Fighters will be made available on PS3 only, dropping with local PS Store updates. It bundles in four characters - Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa - and most game modes. You can import unlocked titles, costumes and story mode progress from the original PS3 version of Dead or Alive 5, and enjoy full cross-play with both the original release and full Ultimate. Additional content is available via micro-transaction.
