Day Z patch includes contributions from community members
Day Z's latest rolling update includes significant work from volunteers in the player community.
According to Day Z creator Dean "Rocket" Hall, this is the first patch to incorporate elements built by community members.
"It is the culmination of a huge amount of work by both the community and the development team. The half-done 1.7.3 patch was made available to the community, who included many of their own fixes and updates," he said.
"Both myself and Matt spent a significant amount of time playing this today, and it was a lot of fun."
In addition to twenty named contributors who gave over their modding expertise, a large number of community members also contributed by testing and providing feedback, which is not to be sneezed at; Hall thanks everyone who gave their time.
Full patch notes can be found on the survival sim's forum; it's quite an extensive change list.
Day Z is on its way to becoming a full stand alone release.
Thanks, Polygon.
