David Jaffe-fuelled MotorGun Kickstarter cancelled

MotorGun's Kickstarter funding campaign has been axed by developer Pixelbionic. The project involved Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe, and some Interstate '76 developers, but the money-drive was scrapped after the studio found that "Kickstarter is a harsh mistress."

We reported on the MotorGun campaign and pitch video here. If successful it would have received guidance from Jaffe.

At the time of closure, the campaign made $63,120 of its $650,000 funding goal.

In the campaign's final update, developers Michael Kaufman and Mike Arkin wrote, "Kickstarter is a harsh mistress. Lots of projects are pitched to the community and sometimes they resonate and sometimes they don't. In this case, what we were pitching wasn't exactly what you guys wanted."

However, MotorGun may be re-tooled to make for a better pitch the duo suggested, "In the next few weeks we'll be reformulating our design and Kickstarter plan and we encourage all of you to head over to our website at www.pixelbionic.com and sign up for the forums. Tell us what you liked and what you didn't and you can help shape the next phase of this wild adventure."

What did you think of the MotorGun concept? Let us know below.
