Monster Hunter-like Dauntless officially launches next week
Dauntless, Phoenix Labs' online monster hunting game, finally has a release date.
Dauntless spent months in closed, buy-in alphas, before an open beta was made available roughly a year ago. The game is seemingly now ready for primetime, because the developer has confirmed a release.
Dauntless will be available on May 21 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The PC version is an Epic Games Store exclusive, as previously announced. Dauntless is free-to-play, and you'll also be able to download the client through the official site, should you want to avoid the EGS.
Phoenix Labs has been one of the first, vocal proponents of cross-network play, and the developer has indeed been promising the feature for Dauntless. Though it won't be available at launch, the developer is keen to get it working.
Being free-to-play, you can expect regularl seasonal updates that launch alongside a new season pass. Similar to Fortnite, Dauntless' first (technically, fifth) Hunt Pass is dubbed Hidden Blades. The pass costs $10 and features 50 levels players can work through that reward cosmetics and premium currency.
