Darkest Dungeon springs its trap onto the Nintendo Switch
"Ambushed by foul invention!"
After the rough time Nintendo had attracting third-party games to the Wii U, it's encouraging to see everything from Stardew Valley to Attack on Titan 2 rush to the Switch. And the latest game to join Nintendo's bandwagon? None other than the game of mind-shattering dungeon crawling, Darkest Dungeon.
The announcement was subtly made today on Twitter, where the Darkest Dungeon team uploaded some video footage. If you wait until the end, you'll see the camera pan back to reveal the game you've been watching was fully rendered on a Switch.
Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based roleplaying game where players form adventuring parties to loot abandoned ruins and clear them of monsters. Outside of physical dangers, each hero is subject to mental afflictions which worsen as they witness horrible events. Successfully completing missions involves managing your party's health and emotional states equally, which is no easy task when you run out of torches.
Darkest Dungeon has yet to offer a Switch release date, but you can pick it up for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, or iOS today.
