Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account wakes after 4 years, internet s**ts the bed

Expect news from CD Projekt's long-in-development sci-fi RPG soon.

In a surprise communication, Cyberpunk 2077's official Twitter account has woken up, five years after its last tweet.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first teased back in January 2013 but beyond the initial reveal we've only been fed tiny hints of what's to come next from the makers of The Witcher 3.

But tweeting in 2018, five years after the first reveal? Surely that means we're going to be getting some significant info this year, if not soonish then around E3 or one of the other big games events?

And if we're only getting real info now, when should we expect an actual release - do we think Cyberpunk 2077 will be a PS5, Xbox Two release?

So many questions and all of them get reheated today with the simplest of tweets.

Before we completely lose it, here's the original reveal, which still looks mighty tasty.

We do know that Cyberpunk 2077 will steer clear of all the loot box money-grabbing bullshit that has so tainted video games over the past couple of years, with CD Projekt stating last month it will "leave greed to others".

We're expecting a large single-player RPG in a similar vain to The Witcher 3, but it will also feature multiplayer of some sort. The team at CD Projekt RED has been building tech for its games after a cash injection from the Polish government of $7 million.

It also sounds like Cyberpunk 2077 will be CD Projekt's magnum opus, with the devs promising a game "far, far bigger" that The Witcher 3.

Whatever's going to happen, 2018 just got a lot more interesting. And the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account just got a whole new bunch of followers.
