Cyberpunk 2077 fan notices incredible detail in the Braindance scene
This many days later, fans are still discovering some neat details in Cyberpunk 2077's recent gameplay.
Around 25 minutes of Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay recently graced our screens. The footage was edited to show several moments from the game's opening, which cover some of the different origin stories, and demonstrate one of the game's best mechanics: the Braindance.
The Braindance is essentially Cyberpunk 2077's version of Gerlat's Witcher vision in The Witcher games, except on a grander scale. As an investigative tool, it allows players to relive a past moment in someone else's life and presents it in a timeline where they can pause and look around the scene for clues. The example shown in the footage has V relive the final moments of a thief who holds up a store for some petty cash, before he gets betrayed and dies.
Look closely, and you could see that betrayal coming a mile away. Shortly after the scene starts, the criminal mastermind disables store security and hands his friend a pistol, except it's not loaded. The character V embodies in that moment takes the gun, racks it once and no bullet comes out. Later, when he threatens the cashier, he racks it another time and nothing comes out.
If a gun is loaded, the chambered bullet would immediately escape on the second rack. If the thief knew what he was doing, he would have noticed an empty chamber, meaning his gun isn't loaded. He doesn't, of course, and gets killed. This neat detail was spotted by Reddit user Wang-Bang, and though the game doesn't directly call attention to it, it's cool to see CD Projekt Red include it.
