Cuphead's early steam sales numbers are looking pretty healthy
Cuphead may have only been on sale for a matter of days, but those first few days of sales are already looking pretty good.
Cuphead's unique flavor of super-difficult retro throwback isn't for everyone, but it seems like a good number of players are taking to it just as well as reviewers did, with the game shifting an impressive number of units in its first few days for sale on Steam.
For its launch week Cuphead placed 4th in total on Steam in numbers reported by Bluesnews.
Cuphead only had three days on sale last week, and even with that considered this chart puts it behind only PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Total War: Warhammer 2 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 - heavy hitters, make no mistake.
For more detailed numbers we can turn to SteamSpy, the unofficial Steam sales tracking service. SteamSpy pegs Cuphead as having sold around 125,000 copies over the first three days of its release - once again, impressive numbers for this new title.
While SteamSpy isn't an official website they've generally proven to be pretty accurate. Some publishers have actually fought to have their numbers hidden form the service, even.
Whatever way you slice it these numbers are looking pretty good for Cuphead - none of this includes sales on Xbox and PC sales from the Windows Store, too.
