Crusader Kings 3 gets its first major expansion with Royal Court

During PDXCon Remixed today, Paradox announced the first major expansion for Crusader Kings 3.

Called Royal Court, the Crusader Kings 3 expansion will allow you to establish a court that "inspires troubadours," favor subjects, and even decorate it with relics from family history.

Heres' the blurb:

The life of a king isn’t all feasting and fighting. The larger the court, the more demands that are placed on the head of a ruler. Vassals and subjects demand audiences, petitions somehow find their way to your throne room, and we haven’t even talked about all the interior decorating. So much fabric. How will you rule your court?

In Royal Court, various new challenges confront you, as folks clamor for attention.

When setting up your Throne Room it can reflect all the "accumulated majesty and prestige" of your dynasty, showing the vassals and courtiers you will interact how prestigious you are when they come to you seeking a solution to their problems to when seeking a royal judgment.

You can also increase the quality of life at your court with "fancier trappings" and better food to impress rivals and attract higher quality guests.

You can also have talented artists, craftspeople, and intellectuals work on new projects in order to add treasures and artifacts to your court.

There are also ways to make the most of your multicultural realm by developing a "new way of life" that is specifically adapted to your population and geography.

You can also split from your traditional culture, and adapt it into something new that better fits your aspirations.

The Royal Court expansion will be accompanied by a major free update that will include a new culture interface and more.

A release date is to be announced, but it is available now for pre-purchase on Steam for $29.99.
