Cricketer Flintoff administers aid to Nintendo UK boss Yarnton during marathon charity ride

England cricket star Freddie Flintoff happened upon fellow cyclist and Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton collapsed from the heat during a marathon charity ride from the site of the original Olympic Games in Greece to London’s Olympic Stadium.

The Mirror report cites "sweltering" conditions during the first 100-mile stage of the 1,785 miles long race, which caused Yarnton to pass out and tumble off his bike.

Flintoff performed "emergency first aid" and sat Yarnton in the recovery position until an ambulance arrived to transport him to the hospital.

A witness stated it was no exaggeration to say that Freddie probably saved" the man's life. Yarnton was reportedly flown back to the UK last night after treatment for a heart problem.

The Cycle Slam 2012 charity ride set out from Olympia on April 23 and so far, 600 miles have been covered by cyclists.

The race is scheduled to conclude in London on May 18. The event sponsors hope to raise £2,012,000 for Cancer Research UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
