NECA Toys director casually lets slip that Crash Bandicoot is coming back (updated)

While we can’t take this as an absolute confirmation that there’s a new game coming out, it looks like Sony is bringing back Crash Bandicoot in one form or another.

UPDATE: Speaking with GameSpot, a representative from NECA has stated that they do not have any advanced knowledge of Crash Bandicoot returning, either as a game or a figurine. "Someone has misunderstood a comment he made. Randy saw a faked fan-made image right before he came to the show and said that if the game were coming back, we'd love to do figures."

While it's admittedly possible that this is simply damage control on NECA's part, if we take them at their word, this may not be the evidence of a revival that people were hoping it was.

ORIGINAL STORY: The potential-reveal occurs at around the 4:10 mark of the video from PixelDan Eardley above, as NECA Toys toy director Randy Falk talks about their PlayStation line of toys.

After showing off figures from LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 4 and God of War, Falk tells Eardley "looking at some of their other titles...I see they're bringing Crash Bandicoot back, which is really cool".

Of course, Activision still own the rights to Crash Bandicoot, but there have been other hints that something is brewing over at Sony. A week ago, the Middle Eastern PlayStation Twitter account tweeted out a 'Wanted' poster for Crash, asking where he is.

Hopefully we'll hear something more definitive soon.
