Counter-Strike: Global Offensive launches "Operation Payback" paid pass
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developer Valve has launched a paid pass for its online shooter.
In a statement sent to VG247 this morning, Valve confirmed that the pass will cost only $2.99 and will give players access to official low-ping servers hosting seven of the best player-created Steam Workshop maps from the community.
Pass holders will earn a limited edition challenge coin to show their support, and they can also invite non-pass holding friends into matches as well. The idea is that proceeds from the pass will go to the map-makers themselves, effectively paying them for their time and effort.
It's a noble prospect - to pay the map creators for their work - but do you still feel that the paid pass model shouldn't exist within Valve's game? Let us know below.
