Controversial Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 content to be released as free DLC
The "dismemberment" feature has been removed from Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 to avoid retail bans in countries with strict content restrictions.
Speaking to Joystiq, Michael Sroczynski said the feature was removed so that the game could release in Germany - which is also good news for Australians, I imagine.
The cut content allowed players to take enemies apart with a smattering of skilled shots, with predictably gory results. Fans of disembodied limbs will be pleased to learn that City Interactive expects to add it back in post-launch in permissive territories, via a free update, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
City Interactive is calling the update DLC, so it's probably optional. Don't expect it down under, just sayin'. The shooter launches in August.
