Kong: Skull Island director signs on for Console Wars TV show chronicling Sega vs Nintendo saga

A television adaption of Blake J. Harris’ Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation is in the works.

Legendary Entertainment has signed on to develop a limited series based on Blake J. Harris’ best-seller chronicling the console war between Nintendo and Sega.

You know, the whole "Genesis does what Nintendon't" thing which took place in the 90s.

The 2014 book authored by Harris recounts the competitive history between Sega and Nintendo throughout the decade along with conflicts inside Sega.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg signed on to co-direct and write a the adaptation of Console Wars the year the book was published. At the time, Sony owned the development rights to the film.

Nerdist reports today Legendary will instead develop the film, and Kong: Skull Island's Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct.

American Vandal's Mike Rosolio will write the pilot while Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver will executive produce under their Point Grey Pictures banner.
