Console support for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will be discontinued December 9

CD Projekt RED has announced it will end support for the console versions of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game on December 9.

The company stated it was discontinuing support for the console versions of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game due to the increase of supported platforms and the fact PC and mobile were the most popular platforms.

"Having just launched Gwent on iOS, and with the Android version coming, the number of supported platforms would significantly increase," reads the official statement. "Looking to the future, we do not believe we can support a growing number of different versions while improving feature parity between them.

"Considering that PC and mobile are the most popular platforms among players, we have made a tough decision: to discontinue support of console versions of the game."

Those who play currently on PS4 and Xbox One will have the option to copy account progress and purchases over to their GOG account for use on PC, iOS, and soon, Android.

There will be no regular updates for console versions starting with the December 9 update, and all real-money purchases will cease on consoles, starting today.
