AGOF internet facts 2008-IV: Computec Media once again considerably expands its online reach

2.945 million unique users visit Computec websites

The newest wave of the "internet facts" market study confirms the impressive increase in the online reach of Computec's portals with a cumulated total of 2.945 million unique users. This corresponds to a 48.1 percent increase over the third quarter of 2008. Of Computec's 22 online portals, thirteen websites were listed in AGOF internet facts 2008-IV at the time of the study (October to December 2008).

The student community "Schueler.CC" played a considerable role in the repeated increase in Computec's online reach. This was the first time the AGOF study included the youth platform, which already boasted more than 810,000 unique users. The Computec portals buffed.de, pcgh.de, cynamite.de and readmore.de experienced particularly strong growth within the core segment of electronic entertainment/ PC and video games.

www.buffed.de, the portal for online role players, reached a total of 754,000 unique users, an increase of ten percent compared to last quarter. www.pcgh.de, the PC Games Hardware magazine website, increased the number of its unique users by a commendable 43 percent to 372,000, while the portal of the multi-format magazine Games Aktuell, www.cynamite.de, expanded its reach by 35 percent to 124,000 unique users according to the latest AGOF numbers. Computec's central e-sport website, www.readmore.de, also had a good showing in the AGOF study, more than doubling its online reach to the current total of over 54,000 unique users.

Computec Media expanded considerably among the "real" unique users as well - another convincing AGOF key figure on Internet use: After deducting all double-users, i.e. persons that visited several websites, the thirteen portals had a total of 2.396 million unique users, which represents an increase of 55 percent compared to the previous quarter.

Hans Ippisch, Commercial Director at Computec Media: "This very impressive growth in the number of unique users is unequaled in the publishing sector in Germany and underscores the successful development of Computec Media from a publishing house to a media enterprise. With nearly five million readers per issue (AWA, KidsVA) rather unique users (AGOF), Computec Media offers the ideal marketing platform with a highly attractive target group."
