Co-op game The Wild Eight and its mutated wolves is The Grey on steroids

This looks like an interesting co-op survival game, even though there's not much to know about it at the moment.

Developed by Russian studio 8 Points, The WildEight finds a group of folks stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after a "mystic" plane crash. I suppose that means they aren't sure why the plane crashed, but it's Alaska, and that happens all the time. You know: wait five minutes and the weather changes. Sometimes for the worse. Well, always for the worse it seems.

Players can either stick with the group in order to survive or strike it out on their own. But beware of mutated wolves, because anything mutated is always going to eat your ass alive. It's the way things go. Think of the Liam Neeson film The Grey and you get the gist. Only those wolves were p**sed off about the men being in their territory. They weren't mutated. Just really, really angry.

The area where the survivors are stranded is also littered with deserted buildings and this puzzling phenomenon needs to be solved if players want to make it out of their conundrum alive.

At night players will have to content with plummeting temperatures to the point of freezing, but thankfully, they will be able to craft shelters. There's also bleeding wounds to attend to, otherwise it's lights out.

If the cold, mutated wildlife and suspicious buildings aren't bad enough, there's apparently a mad man who has joined your group, and he's got his eye on "the catch." The developer didn't divulge anything more on what this catch is, but he wants to grab it.

It all sounds very interesting, and the art looks rather cool too.

The Wild Eight is slated for release on PC and Xbox One this fall.

Thanks, PC Gamer.
