Cliff Bleszinski briefly left games because "people get jaded in this business"
Cliff Bleszinski's Boss Key Productions just announced Lawbreakers, but for a while it seemed as though the Gears of War creator was retired from games.
Chatting to Brett Makedonski over at Destructoid, Bleszinski admits that he thought his retirement from games after leaving Epic Games in 2012 would be permanent.
"It was a combination of gamers feeling jaded, as well as working with some very talented people who were also very jaded", he said.
"I could pitch the most amazing idea to anybody back when I was at Epic toward the end, and they'd be like 'I don't buy it.' I don't mean to slag anyone, but people get jaded in this business."
Bleszinski has returned to games now, and seems to be in relatively high spirits.
Boss Key Productions' Lawbreakers was revealed last week. It's a free-to-play online co-operative shooter set in a world where gravity has been altered by a cataclysmic event.
