Chizuru Kagura confirmed for The King of Fighters 15
The classic SNK fighting series is returning for a fifteenth installment with The King of Fighters 15, and Chizuru Kagura will be returning with it.
Chizuru – a veteran character that’s been in-and-out of the series since she debuted as the sub-boss in The King of Fighters ’96 – has officially been announced for the SNK-developed game.
Fans of the series will note that Chizuru was missing in the last entry in the series, The King of Fighters 14, and as such this will be the first time we get to see her rendered with a proper 3D model. Take a look at her introduction trailer below.
Chizuru will be joining up with previously announced The King of Fighters 15 characters Kyo and Iori, and will form Team Shattered Treasures with the other two combatants.
Each of the characters can trace their lineage back to three clans that were destined to hold sacred treasures that were created to seal the evil entity Orochi. That explains the dramatic name of the team, then.
The three teaming up here could hint towards the big-bad of the new game (though nothing about the primary antagonist has been revealed by SNK just yet). Could we see Orochi rearing its reptilian head once more in this entry in the long-running fighting series?
Chizuru was announced at the second Japan Fighting Game Publisher Roundtable, where we also saw the Polish Tekken 7 character DLC tease, and got confirmation that Guilty Gear Strive’s beta would be extended for a few extra days.
