Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel debuts in Japan, New 3DS models closing in on 500K units sold
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel debuted in the top ten on Media Create's chart in Japan last week, and while there was a decline in the majority of hardware offerings, Nintendo's New 3DS systems remained on top.
The latest in the Borderlands franchise landed at number seven with 12,386 units sold on PlayStation 3. It was followed by D3 Publisher's Onechanbara Z2: Chaos with 10,474 sold on PS4.
Other debuts for the week included Metro Redux, published by Spike Chunsoft in the region, at number 11 with 6,158 units sold on PS4 and Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive debuting at 18 with 3,534 units sold.
The debuts on PlayStation consoles and Xbox One didn't help move hardware though, as all offerings save Wii U (up 423 units), were in decline week-over-week.
Still, New 3DS LL and New 3DS both remained in the first and second place slots, respectively, moving 55,673 units combined for week of October 27 - November 2.
Life-to-date sales for the LL model stand at 326,123 units and 134,712 units for the 3DS model. Combined lifetime sales for the New 3DS models stand at 460,835, currently.
