CDPR's next game "should take less time to create overall"
The next game from CD Projekt Red should take a lot less than four years to make, studio director Adam Badowski has said.
Badowski answered the question from RPS in a new interview on The Witcher 2.0, noting the four year gap between The Witcher 1 and The Witcher II.
"We’re gaining experience, our technology is becoming more and more complete every week, every month," he said,
"And we’re definitely looking for ways to optimize and reduce development time. It’s no secret that we’re constantly hiring. Our team will soon number one hundred, of which almost 10% come from outside of Poland.
"Given all that, our next game should take us less time to create overall. Of course, other factors will come into play. If, for example, we decide to produce an expansion, that may slow the process down a bit."
Badowski also said to expect some other stuff to be announced at sometime next year alongside more details of the 360 version of The Witcher II, noting that "next year should be no less interesting than this year was in terms of the news we reveal."
Witcher III confirmed. Maybe.
The Witcher II 360 launches next year. Release 2.0 for the PC version lands on Thursday.
