Catch up with Geralt in this heartfelt Witcher 10th Anniversary video
Geralt's adventures turn ten next month, and CD Projekt has created a video to celebrate.
It's sort of hard to believe thanks to how recent the meteoric rise of The Witcher has a major force in gaming has been, but the video game adventures of Geralt of Rivia are actually turning ten years old pretty soon. October 26 is the ten-year anniversary of the release of the original Witcher game on PC. That date thus marks a significant step in the epic journey of not just Geralt but also for a little company called CD Projekt RED.
To celebrate, CD Projekt has put together a sweet little video of Geralt reminiscing and catching up with some of the most memorable faces from his adventures - and there's even a little bit of fourth wall breaking action at the end. You also find out exactly what he's been filling his time with since the conclusion of Wild Hunt, though it's exactly what you'd think, really.
It's a lovely little tribute to the series from the development team, and the YouTube comments are already full of people saying it made them cry, obviously. The video made its debut at the Witcher's PAX panel.
If we'll ever play as Geralt again remains to be seen - his story wraps up nicely, and CD Projekt is currently working on the card game Witcher spin-off Gwent and the mysterious and exciting Cyberpunk 2077 - but also given the size of the series I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't yet seen the last of the Witcher universe. Only time will tell. For now, watch the video. Try not to cry.
