Carmageddon: Reincarnation Kickstarter ends, exceeds goal, Mac and Linux versions guaranteed
Stainless Games' Kickstarter campaign to revive the controversial Carmageddon series has come to a successful end, with the project exceeding its $400,000 goal.
The campaign reached its $400,000 goal ten days prior to the project's conclusion. In total $625,143 was pledged by 15,736 backers.
By exceeding the $600,000 mark and reaching the project's first Stretch Goal, backers have ensured that Stainless Games will be committing to both Mac and Linux releases, in addition to PC. According to the project's FAQ, release on Xbox 360 and PS3 is planned for "as soon as possible afterwards".
Additional Stretch Goals were set at $650,000 and $700,000. If $650,000 was raised, the company promised PratCam movies for the characters Die Anna, Pitbull and Vlad, with the intention of recording PratCam movies for all characters in the game. Split Screen Support for PC and Co-Op Multiplayer were promised if the $750,00 mark was met.
However, according to an update posted yesterday by Stainless Games, they will still be incorporating "ALL" the features the company has stated were Stretch Goals. "It will just take us a little longer to deliver them to you!"
Carmageddon: Reincarnation is intended for release in February 2013.
Thanks, AusGamers.
