Capcom wants Resident Evil fans to test out a new, unannounced project in Japan
Capcom has put out a call to Resident Evil fans asking for their input on a new project.
The publisher revealed in a memo to Resident Evil Ambassadors in Japan that it's looking for those willing to participate in on-site testing of a new game in September.
The email, obtained by Biohaze, was sent by Capcom’s Division 1 - the team behind Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry. Seeing as it was addressed to Resident Evil fans, it's logical to assume the company is working on a new Resident Evil game.
Tests will take place September 8 or 9. Interestingly, the site notes that Capcom hosted a fan meeting in Tokyo back in June for Resident Evil Ambassadors, another indication that the project is Resident Evil-related rather than Devil May Cry.
"We are interested in incorporating the feedback of all Ambassadors into our development," the invitation reads.
Since the release of Resident Evil 2 Remake earlier this year, fans have always assumed Capcom would move on to giving Resident Evil 3: Nemesis the same treatment. By the looks of it, the project appears in an early stage of development, so don't expect news until next year.
