Capcom financials: net profits up 355%, Resi 6 ships 3.7 million units
That's 'ships', not 'sells' people, be aware of the difference. Capcom has announced some positive half-year financials that show a significant profit increase due to the success of Dragon's Dogma and Resident Evil 6 - among others.
GI.biz reports that for the period ending September 30, Capcom's net sales increased by 55.7% on last year, that's 45.5 billion Yen - which is roughly $570m/£354m.
The publisher's vastly increased digital output accounted a rise in profits of 69.1% on 2011, which equates to for 35 billion Yen - roughly $438m/£272m.
Dragon's Dogma was a big-hitter at over one million sales, but the news wasn't entirely rosy, as Capcom' arcade division saw a 7% dip at 5.6 billion Yen - roughly $70m/£43. The publisher closed two arcades during the period and not operates only 35 sites worldwide.
