Capcom financials: company wants more titles made by smaller teams
Capcom's annual report document has laid out the company's approach to development going forward, including an emphasis on more games made by smaller teams, as well as a push on digital titles.
An excerpt of the report stated, "Teams developing major titles will be limited to 100 members, with multiple sequel titles developed at the same time. Also, as it will be necessary to create a large-scale development structure for shortening the development process, we will strengthen in-house development staff recruitment."
"In addition," it continued, "we will increase the number of titles released in a single year and expand earnings using a hybrid development model whereby the core portions of the project are developed in-house by Capcom and the process-work is outsourced to outside development companies."
Elsewhere the report stated that Capcom will look at 2.5 year sale cycles and an increase of digital titles over the next two years. Microtransaction DLC wasn't included in this forecast.
