Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer is free to play this weekend for Warzone players
Free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone players can get a taste of Modern Warfare's traditional multiplayer all weekend long.
A new free access Modern Warfare multiplayer weekend is kicking off later today for Call of Duty: Warzone players who do not own the full game. It starts at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK and goes on until Sunday.
As part of the free weekend, you'll find a moshpit playlist featuring five of the game's maps. The list includes staples Shoot House and Shipment, as well as Season 5's new Suldal Harbor and Petrov Oil Rig maps. Last season's Cheshire Park is also included.
These maps will rotate alongside a mix of deathmatch modes like TDM and Kill Confirmed, and a few objective modes like Hardpoint and Domination. All in all, it's a good selection, just keep in mind that you won't be able to choose the maps or modes specifically.
Multiplayer weekends are always great for unlocking weapons and weapon attachments, particularly for those who arrived to the game late. All your progress carries over between Warzone and multiplayer, of course, which is what makes those opportunities special for free-to-play players.
In case you missed it, Season 5 kicked off this week, bringing with it a few changes to the Warzone map, such as the opening of the stadium, a running freight train, new areas at the train station and more.
