Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta was the franchise's biggest ever
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta has broken three major records.
Activision has announced that the recently concluded Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta was the most successful ever in Call of Duty history.
Although specific numbers weren't shared, Activision said the beta had the highest peak concurrent players, the biggest number of players and the most hours played. This data is based on the combined activity for players on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
In the press release, Activision also reiterated that some of Modern Warfare's multiplayer modes will support 100 players at launch, though without hinting at what these could be. It's possible larger Ground War maps will be capable of this scale, seeing as battle royale questions keep getting shut down.
It'll nonetheless be interesting to see if large format gameplay is going to be a focus for Infinity Ward going forward.
In other Modern Warfare news, Activision announced that Survival - part of the game's co-op Spec Ops mode - will be exclusive to PS4 for an entire year. As you can imagine, the news hasn't been well received by fans.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches October 25 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
