Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight alpha goes up early, now live on PS4
Activision opened the floodgates on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight alpha test ahead of schedule.
The download for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's 2v2 Gunfight alpha, a PS4 exclusive, went up on schedule yesterday, with the assumption that servers would be going live today.
Activision surprised fans by turning servers on about 20 hours early, which caused a bit of a rush as more and more people tried getting on. If you still haven't grabbed it, the alpha already has a PlayStation Store page where you can queue the download. It's about 36GB, despite what the store page says.
The Gunfight alpha is free to download, and does not require an active PlayStation Plus subscription. So far, only three maps are available to play: Pine, King, and Speedball. More will unlock over the weekend.
Although the Gunfight alpha has not been announced for PC or Xbox One, Gunfight itself will be included in the September beta. Developer Infinity Ward confirmed on Reddit that PC and Xbox One players will be able to play Gunfight during the main beta next month.
