The Rogue Initiative is a new VR production firm focusing on episodic content including games and TV shows for platforms such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR as well as more traditional projects.

Develop reports the team will build content in Unreal 4, and will collaborate with Hollywood directors.

The group certainly has the contacts and reputation to make it happen, counting among its founders some big names from Activision, Amblin Entertainment, DreamWorks Animation, Pixar, Disney, Sony Pictures and MTV Films. CEO Pete Blumel was a key producer at Infinity Ward, which was responsible for Call of Duty becoming the worldwide phenomenon it is today.

The Rogue Initiative will kick off with a "big episodic action tentpole franchise", a "psychological thriller" and a "stylised animated action adventure". Nice.

*Someone please make a five-player co-op Voltron VR game, thanks in advance.
