Call of Duty Blackout's new Alcatraz map goes live tomorrow
Apparently the new Black Ops Battle Royale Alcatraz map isn't an April Fool's joke, and it drops tomorrow on PlayStation 4.
First teased in the Instagram story of the official Call of Duty account, and picked up by Reddit (via ComicBook.com), the new Alcatraz map appears to be legit, and is dropping tomorrow, April 2, on PS4.
The trailer for the map is up on YouTube, and while some players are a bit sceptical, shots from this new trailer can be seen at the end of February's Operation Grand Heist trailer.
And, as ComicBook.com pointed out, a tweet from Treyarch also teased a "new Blackout experience," that was "redacted" on the roadmap.
The Call of Duty Twitter account has also assured fans that this isn't an April Fool's prank.
"This is no joke, storm Alcatraz on PS4 and drop into Blackout for free on all systems tomorrow. Alcatraz is coming to all systems at a later date," it tweeted.
Outside of the new map, there doesn't appear to be any additional content planned for tomorrow.
The last update saw the next Zombies chapter roll out with Ancient Evil, wrapping up the current Zombies season, as well as the underground map, Delphi.
In other Call of Duty news, Activision recently announced a mobile entry for the series for Android and iOS, confirmed for release in North America, South America, and Europe. The game will get a public beta this summer.
