Call of Duty 2 frame-rate test shows massive improvements on Xbox One

If you're revisiting Call of Duty 2 on Xbox One, you're going to notice how much better it runs compared to its original release.

Call of Duty 2 was added to Xbox One backwards compatibility earlier this week. If you own it on disk, or digitally, you can download and play it on your Xbox One now.

According to some testing Digital Foundry has done, the game's 60 frames-per-second target is maintained much better on Xbox One. As you can see in the video, many of Call of Duty 2's intense scenes drop to the 40s on Xbox 360, with some cut-scenes going as low as 30fps.

In terms of resolution, the game still runs at 720p, not that will change.

The Xbox One version is obviously the same Xbox 360 version, running through emulation. The benefit of more powerful hardware doesn't usually translate to better performance with backwards compatible games. But in this case, it does.
