Leaked Call of Duty: Warzone audio suggests Verdansk will be nuked

Leaked Call of Duty: Warzone files suggests that Season 2 really will end with the battle royale map, Verdansk, going up in a mushroom cloud of nuclear smoke.

After weeks of speculation, it finally appears legit: new Call of Duty: Warzone leaks all but confirm that Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 2 will come to an explosive end as a new ‘Plague’ event takes hold and obliterates the Verdansk map.

Thanks to the arrival of a beached tanker on the shores of Verdansk, zombies have already arrived in the multiplayer battle royale portion of Call of Duty. Going forward, it looks like the brewing narrative of the online mode will end up in a nuclear disaster that'll move the action to a new map.

As per new intel from ‘ZestyCoDLeaks’, it seems Activision and Raven Software are conspiring to have everyone in the PvP mode team up to defend Verdansk from braying hordes of the living dead as new nukes rewrite the map we've gotten to know over the past 12 months.

A selection of voice lines leaked by the Twitter user appear to tease the end of Verdansk. “Verdansk is overrun, take it back” says the Warzone announcer in one of the leaked voice lines. “Verdansk is lost. End it,” it says in another – apparently triggered if you fail in the mode, which is followed by “Extraction canceled, nuke inbound for Verdansk”.

Other leakers in the Call of Duty Warzone community seem to be suggesting that March 11 will be the date when all this kicks off, with some sort of nuclear explosion being triggered by the in-game silos that were 'discovered' at the start of Season 2.

Though it's uncertain how everything will actually play out, it’s likely that the Zombies from Shipwreck will overrun the Verdansk map, and players will have to exfiltrate from the map as it teems with the undead, or risk annihilation themselves.

Everything is about to get messy in Call of Duty Warzone, it seems.
