Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies will throw guts at you if you stay out of reach
It looks like the zombies from Call of Duty are beginning to learn...
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's zombies have begun to have enough of player antics. The undead will now retaliate against those trying to stay out of their grasp with a bizarre, yet effective new move.
Zombies has become an important pillar for the Call of Duty franchise for years now. What started off as a mini-game has ballooned into a fully-fledged mode where PvE players can exist outside of the campaign. The wave-based mode has a dedicated audience, and by most accounts, they are quite pleased with what Black Ops Cold War has to offer.
Players who spend a lot of time mowing down the undead probably feel they have figured out the shambling corpses by now too. However, it turns out that those shambling corpses have a pretty fun little trick up their sleeve.
If the player tries to run and hide from the zombies in a place where they may be unable to reach them, the zombies will instead start tearing off pieces of themselves and throwing it at the player. The new animation was noticed by a Reddit user, and the clip went big. You can check it out here:

It's a fun little idea, but it could prove useful to the game too. Players trying to get out of bounds of the combat arena is a regular occurrence in Zombies. While not a full protection, this new attack ensures that zombies have a way to hit troublesome players who are out of reach.
Elsewhere Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has had an up and down launch. The game has come under fire for its high grinding requirements as well as for bugs, such the game turning off PlayStation controllers. However, the game also smashed digital sales records for the franchise, wrapping up an uneven, but successful launch of the game.
