Bungie: Halo 3 on GoD is still same great game despite slower loading times

Bungie's community director Brian Jarrard has admitted that the Games on Demand version of Halo 3 does run a lot slower on HDD then it does on disc.

Speaking to Kotaku, Jarrard did say that anyone intending to buy it from the service should not be put off by it, despite "no additional work" being done to speed it up.

"To our knowledge there was no additional work done on the code to optimize the game for HDD installation," he said.

"The game is obviously still playable and enjoyable and it's likely most people may not even notice a difference. However, we did encourage people who owned the disc to not install to HDD since it would result in longer load times."

Jarrard later further added: "In reality it's not that big of a deal, just something we get protective over. Ideally we want all of our fans to have the best possible experience with our games."

An MS rep said that the shooter had "undergone extensive testing to ensure that players will have a positive experience, whether the game is played from a DVD, hard disk drive or USB drive."

No excuses to not buy it, then. It released earlier this week on the service.
