Bulletstorm is Epic's "dream sci-fi movie" in a "groundbreaking video game", says writer

Bullestorm writer Rick Remender has called the game Epic Games' "dream sci-fi movie" that so happens to be a "groundbreaking video game" at the same time.

Speaking in an interview with Game Informer, the writer said the People Can Fly shooter has achieved "total imersion" so far.

"They flew me out to Warsaw for a week and we all locked down the story together as you would in any writer’s room," said Remender.

"We tore it up, everyone had great ideas, by the end we’d written our dream sci-fi movie. It just so happens that it’s also a groundbreaking video game. It’s been a great production; they are equally as invested in story and gameplay in a way I don’t see that often."

He further added: "Working this way has set apart the better games of the past few years, just never in a FPS. It achieves total immersion. So, no communication issues, so far the process has been a dream."

Bulletstorm was revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer earlier this month, with a formal announcement last week.

The game's due for a release in 2011 for PS3, 360 and PC.
