- EA confirmed last night that it's bought Plants Vs Zombies creator PopCap for $750 million. A conference call followed the announcement, and you can find complete coverage here.
- Microsoft confirmed to Johnny last night that the Xbox Music story BusinessInsider reported yesterday is false. Steve Ballmer was getting his wires crossed again, apparently.
- Square's put out a 30-minute movie of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This is looking very swish, so check it out now.
- All the player progress data from the Uncharted 3 beta's been permanently lost to a bug. Whoops.
- EA's closing down multiplay servers for 17 old games, including Army of Two.
- Ubi's to release Rayman Origins' tech to the open source community.
- Someone's pointed "Modernwarfare3.com" at the Battlefield 3 website.
- The board game designer clinging to the Trench copyright – and thereby preventing Doublefine’s Trenched from releasing in Europe – has plans to turn his creation into a videogame.
- The Catherine demo released for PS3 and 360 in the US yesterday. It's not for you, filthy Euros: there's no date on it outside of the US and Japan yet.

- Christina Norman, lead designer on Mass Effect 2 and 3, has left BioWare to join League of Legends dev Riot Games in the same role.
- Codemasters has said it wants to include "historical" race DLC in its F1 games. The company also hinted yesterday that veteran racer TOCA may make a comeback.
- MetaCritic co-founder Marc Doyle has admitted that ratings for games on the website are unbalanced.
