Borderlands 2 Gear Up event extended till Thursday

Borderlands 2 fans hoping to face down Vermivorous the Invincible have been granted a few extra days to do it in.

Thanks to a download issue with a compatibility patch released ahead of the latest DLC pack, the past weekend's Gear Up event has been extended to 4:55PM GMT on January 17.

To take advantage of the final round of festivities, you'll need to have finished the game so you can access True Vault Hunter Mode. Head on in to the Tundra Express, Caustic Caverns or Natural Selection Annex and face down Varkids - if any survive long enough to enter the pod state multiple times, there's a much higher chance than usual that they'll emerge as Vermivorous the Invincible.

Why would you want that? Because its drop rate for the very rare Norfleet weapon has been increased, too.

As will all the bonuses of the Gear Up event, you'll need to have your PC or console inline and signed in to benefit from Gearbox's temporary tweaking.
