Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night E3 2016 demo available to $60 backers

If you slapped down a whack of cash for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, you can get a little slice of E3 2016 in your own home.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was on show at the Xbox booth at E3 2016, but for the vast majority of fans who couldn't attend (and even those who did, but couldn't face the long queues) there's still a chance to check out the latest demo build.

Above and beyond the beta many backers will be granted access to, Inti Creates has elected to give all Kickstarter backs at $60 and above the E3 2016 demo. It's PC only and has a few bugs, but it's still an unusual opportunity to check out an in-development game.

Details on how to access the demo will be mailed to everyone who filled out their Fangamer backer reward survey by the cut off date, and should have all rolled out by June 27. If all goes well, it will be available for about three months. It's important that you check in with the Kickstarter update for information on how to play and known bugs.

Creator Koji Igarashi asked fans to bear in mind that the development team is currently working on story cutscenes, a cutscene tutorial, adjustments to enemy and item placements, and a map screen with minimap, so don't get too frustrated with these missing elements.

"Watching such a wide variety of gamers play the build helped us uncover a lot of usability issues in the game," Igarashi noted.

"But the smiles on so many faces and the enjoyment everyone seemed to get out of the demo told us a lot of our initial ideas are good, which is exciting."

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is expected in March 2017, for Linux, Mac, PC, PS4, Vita, Wii U and Xbox One.
