Bloodborne guide: Executioners covenant

Bloodborne players are yet to unlock all the secrets of covenants, but several have been identified and the basics of joining and effects are pretty well sorted out. Here’s what we know about the first of these optional allegiances.

Executioners Covenant

The Executioners covenant is another PvP and invasion-focused group, but unlike the Cainhust Vilebloods, it has a flimsy excuse for its behaviour: it is sworn to eradicate the Vilebloods, who are just in it for the kicks.

When Executioners are summoned to co-op sessions, if they find themselves in a world belonging to a Vileblood member they will be able kill the Host, as if they were invading. However, they will appear just like a co-op summon, and the Host may not notice the subtle message announcing this fact.

How to join the Executioners

The Executioners covenant is access via Alfred's sidequest. Alfred is first found outside the Tomb of Oedon, standing by an altar in a dead end on one side of the chapel with the false floor. Talk to him to receive the Pray gesture.

After gaining access to Forsaken Cainhurst Castle and passing into the Vildbloods' den, collect the Unopened Summons and deliver it to Alfred, who should have moved to the central square in the Cathedral Ward.

Return to the Vildbloods' headquarters to find Alfred has killed Annalise. (Be sure to collect the loot on her body; you can then resurrect her, if you like.) He will give you the Roar gesture and the Wheel Hunter Badge, which allows you to purchase the Logarius' Wheel and Gold Ardeo from the Bath Merchant.

If you then go back to the Cathedral Ward and visit the altar where you first met Alfred, you can collect the Radiance rune. Equipping this rune opens you to the chance to hunt Vilebloods when you volunteer for co-op.
