Blizzard feels it failed with StarCraft II marketplace
During the Blizzard gamescom press conference today, the firm's co-founder Frank Pearce was asked by an attendee what he felt the developer had failed at during it's years in the business, and Pearce said one thing was the planned StarCraft marketplace.
Originally announced as a Battle.net addition which would allow StarCraft II map makers to sell their creations, the marketplace has yet to launch and Blizzard is unsure whether it will be made available in time for the Heart of the Swarm expansion pack.
According to Pearce, players experience content faster than Blizzard can create it, so the marketplace was supposed to help keep folks interested until more could be released. Unfortunately, it was not ready in time for StarCraft II's launch.
However, Pearce said Blizzard is still working on the marketplace, and parts of it will be put into place via Battle.net before Heart of the Swarm launches.
Thanks, Game Informer.
